Describe the failure

We check the curtain for bow and slat damage, the guides for spread and packing, the bottom rail for corrosion from the inside face, and the axle spring for remaining tension. The rail in particular fails hidden — the outside can look fine.
Repair or replace, honestly
Guides straightened and cleared, spring tension reset, barrel and end plates replaced, bottom rail swapped. Where the curtain itself is rusted through we say so — re-tensioning a door whose slats have gone is money spent twice.
Cycle, balance and seal
